What If Technology Actually Made Business Less Complicated?

What if your business information was centralized and managed in one universal place on one universal platform? What if all it took to get a new employee up and running was a user ID and password and a bit of training? How would that impact your business? Would it give you peace of mind knowing that when anyone left the company you could just assign the account to someone else who could pick up right where the other person left off? Would all of this lower your costs and improve your time to market? Could you expand into new territories and new markets faster and cheaper? Would managing remote employees and customers be easier? Would it give the company the control it needs in managing information and servicing its clients? Would it improve customer services and sales? Would it lower your costs if you didn't need any software and your staff could work from any device connected to the Internet? Would it lower your training costs if everyone in your organization, regardless of position or location, used the same information in the same way?

What would you do if I told you all of this was achievable and available for your business today by simply leveraging Cloud computing?

These are the types of questions business owners and managers should really be thinking about when it comes to leveraging technology to lower costs and improve productivity. While some companies still think about computer technology as it existed ten years ago and might not fully grasp the benefits of leveraging web technology, others are charging ahead using web technology to streamline their operations and improve their productivity. For some companies it may seem like a daunting task to change the way the organization operates, but the reality is that new technology can make life easier and better for everyone on board and result in rapid adoption rates among even the most committed technophobes.

Cloud Computing is really just centralizing information on the web and using nothing more than a secure web browser to access it. It can deliver amazing cost savings and efficiencies throughout any organization. This is not to say some old legacy computer programs and applications won't always have their place within a business, it's just important to understand that properly deployed web technology can replace a lot of old and outdated systems and provide many benefits for the organization.

I'm not here to say cloud computing and web technology is a silver bullet for your company because it's not, I'm here to tell you that when properly built and deployed, web technology can, and will, save you money and improve productivity in your business.

Remember, it's not about technology itself, it's about understanding whether there is strong business case to use it or not, and if there is, then it's just a simple matter of return on investment.
